Spring break is on the horizon and the end of the year will be here before we know it. We are continuing to pray for you as you power through this most unusual school year.

ACEF’s website has a new look. Same address childrenstuitionfund.org with a new look. In addition to being a resource for schools, there are lots of helpful links for parents and contributors so please feel free to use our website as a broad resource in your tax-credit strategy… and as always, reach out to us with any questions you have or with ways we can help you.

VA

Do not forget that we still have this year to raise scholarship money for kids who qualify for Virginia’s tax-credit program. We are working with multiple organizations in VA to push back any effort to repeal or diminish the tax-credit.

IL

Illinois schools should have received an email from us detailing a great meeting that we had with a key Democrat lawmaker. He gave our schools great action steps they can take toward helping preserve the program in IL. As you may know, the governor has rolled out a budget proposal that would gut and, likely, kill the Invest in Kids Act. Since the vote on that proposal will not happen until the end of May we have time to influence the legislators. Schools—please make plans to host your local/district representative, especially if they are new to the legislature, and show them the incredible impact the program has had on needy students at your school.

PA

We anticipate opening at least one SPE, and possibly a second, this spring. As you well know, the state does not check in with us before they act. We want to be ready to bring in money for students so if you have tax-credit participants you know will be ready to go when we received state notification, please make sure those folks are on our “ready to go” list with their name and dollar amount (a relatively close approximation is fine). Catherine Long has been hosting meetings for schools, answering questions for board members, and lining up for participants. We anticipate applying for many more SPE’s which would allow for more individuals to participate and we are always looking for businesses to join our effort. We provide the highest level of customer service and are looking forward to another year of growth in CTF of PA and the many kids whose lives will be changed through this program.

AL

There are a lot of tax-credits available in Alabama. If you are a school who has qualifying students give us a call so we can work with you to get scholarship money raised for them.

There are many states with new school-choice legislation making its way through the process. We are excited about the prospects of growing into more states and helping our schools change the lives of more students.
